European Steppes Animals
Here is some information about some of the animals that we have here in the European Steppes. Some of the animals listed below are the Steppe Eagles, Saiga Antelope, and European Bison. Pay close attention to the information we have about our animals because some of it maybe very inportant for you to know.
Steppe Eagles
Steppe Eagles can grow up to 66 to 70 cm (25.98 to 31.10 inches). So it might be really easy to spot one. The males ales wing spand can be about 165 to 18 cm, the while a females can be 180 to 200 cm. Most European and Asian birds spend their winters in eastern and souther africa. Since they spend most of there time there this is a time when you probaly wont see any steppe eagles. Steppe eagles start to breed around the age of 4 in bushes, hills, or the ground. In the winter they feed on small insects like locust. They prey on small mammals, birds and
lizards, so be carefull around then when they are hunting.

Saiga Antolopes
Saiga Antelopes live in dry steppes and semi desserts. The Saiga
Antelopes have large noses that make there head look very large so when you see one that is how you will know. The reason why there noses are so big is because it helps the adaption to the dry and cold weather. The nose of the antelopes are connected to their bones, hairs, and glands. During the winter their fur is 70% thicker than from the summer.

European Bison
The European Bison is similar to the north american Bison. The European Bisons
usually grows up to 9.5 feet long and 5' 10 to 6' 4 feet high. They weigh over
1763 to a little over 2200 pounds. Bison are known to roam the steppes, but they
starting to become endangered because hunters a starting to target them. Since these the european bison is an endangered animal the we ask that please keep your distance, and not to hunt then while your hear. They are the biggest herbivores found in Europe.
