Temperate Grasslands
Temperate Grasslands are found in many places all of the world. They are mostly found in North America and Eurasia. The Europe temperate grassland are called the Steppes. Temperate grasslands are regions which contain little rainfall and contain large open areas of grass. Grasslands are know to be in the middle latitudes and are found in the interior of continents. In temperate grasslands the amount of rainfall affects the height of grass.
Grasslands are known to have grass as the main vegetation and are found in the middle of latitudes. Temperatures average around -40 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, but temperatures vary year round. There are two different types of grasslands there are ones with tall grass and one with short grass. The ones with tall grass are very humid and very wet and the ones with short grass are very hot and dry. Precipitation occurs during the late spring and summer. Grasslands have growing seasons that last about 100 to 175 days, and this season is for plants to grow.
